i ordered here for the first time yesterday evening, and the takeout was absolutely great. the portions were large, food was cooked well, and ready when i arrived. i purchased a sesame chicken, cashew chicken, and oriental chicken. after opening it and eating it, i was beyond happy with the meal for me and my family. i've looked through the reviews, particularly the bad ones, and i'm disappointed with the dishonesty in people. one of them even says that they ordered a salad? they don't even serve salads, leaving me with no idea whether or not many of the poor reviews are true. disregarding this, the oriental cafe is a great chinese place in taylorsville to go, and i will definitely be back to eat sometime soon!

This place has very good food and great egg rolls. They put a whole shrimp in each one. My favorite is the oriental chicken it’s sweet and saucy. The lo mein is very good too. You can’t go wrong here.

I don't know what the bad reviews are about. Our food was hot, fresh, & really good. Andrew had twice-cooked pork & I had the sesame chicken. We also split an egg roll & crispy wontons. Each dish was freshly prepared & piping hot. The pork dish was the best twice cooked pork I've had around here & the chicken was crispy. I'll definitely be eating from here again!

Been eating here for years. Always hot and fresh. The owner goes out of her way to accommodate special orders. And the chow miens have never had noodles in the dish. You can get crispy noodles to put top though. Worth the visit.

Excellent! My son and I are foodies from Florida and we needed a Chinese food fix while visiting. My son is a professional cook and I grew up cooking with a Japanese mother who was also a sushi chef and loved Chinese food so we both know what quality Asian food looks and tastes like. We started with the handmade hand-rolled shrimp and vegetable egg rolls that were so packed full of goodness and fresh ingredients that I wish I had taken two dozen home with us! Crispy and sizable I thought I was back in New York and London where the Chinese food is superb. We shared a big bowl of won-ton soup that was hearty with handmade hand-folded won-tons in a delicate broth -so good! For the main course, I had the cashew chicken and my son had the pineapple chicken, both were beautifully executed and delicious but I think mine was the best, packed with hand cut chunks of white meat chicken, fresh vegetables and the perfect amount of crunchy cashews. Helen the owner is from Macau and she is a beautiful person that takes great pride in her food, she explained how they make the food from scratch and use only the freshest ingredients. This little town should really appreciate having such a nice place to eat - we would love to have a great Chinese restaurant like this where we live. Please visit her, go inside and sit, there are not many Chinese restaurants you can still have this kind of experience in. Thank you Helen for all the love and hard work you put into making this beautiful food for your community, you are a treasure!

I am very impressed with the dedication and attention paid to providing fresh food made to order. No pre made food here. Not even the soups. The owner is so very gracious and sweet it makes you want to return. Always spotless and clean. The food is tasty and excellently prepared.

I’ve seen a lot of bad reviews on this restaurant and I can confirm that most of them are either one time occurrences or fake. Before I get @ I’d like to specify, this restaurant is definitely hit or miss, either you like it or you don’t. In my opinion, the price is the biggest issue, but because of the pandemic and inflation in prices, I can let it slide. I started going there about a year or two ago and I’ve never experienced a lack of food, weird looking/tasting food, or not cooked food. A friend of mine worked there and confirmed that most of the food is cooked before the customer gets there; the only exception is the rice, which is made beforehand. Overall great, friendly staff and good prices. I’m confident that some of these reviews are def not what they seem or outdated. :/
